I would like to welcome all the guests and participants of Moscow International Chamber Music Festival “Window to Switzerland”. It is the fourth spring in a row, when Swiss and Russian musicians have an opportunity to meet in Moscow for professional exchange and introduce Swiss music life to the Russian audience. The festival is becoming a good tradition; and step by step, it takes a solid place in the music arena of Moscow. Yet, the geography of the festival is not limited by the Russian capital. I was pleased to learn that this year the festival is reaching out to St. Petersburg.
Last year, Switzerland and Russia marked the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The third festival “Window to Switzerland” was one of the most memorable events of the jubilee program by opening its music page. The jubilee has inspired new collaboration between Switzerland and Russia in various spheres including cultural exchanges and music dialogue. Participation of such notable masters as Felix Renggli and Heinz Holliger, Albin Brun in the festival is a striking proof.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the organizers, sponsors, and participants of the festival and wish all the audiences enjoy the music.
Pier Helg ,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Russian Federation
